Giving My Heart to You, the CD by Paul J. Savageau

- The Tracks -

The album opens with "Let Me Share Your Joy" (530KB), a wedding celebration song, featuring 12 string guitar, shakers, and three part harmonies, and is perfect for the wedding ceremony.

The title track, "Giving My Heart To You" (495KB), is, well, folk rock. Featuring Paul's 12 string guitar, strong percussion, rich vocal harmonies, and melodic electric lead guitar, this is a song that every bride and groom can cherish. "I hope that all Christian newlyweds will use this song as their first dance," says Paul.

"Jesus Come" (542KB) is a communion meditation that can be used at any time during the liturgical year, but is most relevant during the Advent Season. A song that contemplates the "Bread of Life", featuring 6 string finger picking, harmonica, and cello.

"Come Unto Me" (483KB) is a song for those who need rest, are submerged in sin, and need to get back to the Lord. Featuring scriptural reference to Jesus' words, "All those who labor, come unto Me…" Paul's double strums on the 6 string rhythm, combined with the reverent lead guitar playing of brother Peter, this song will grab you from start to finish, and take you home. "America the Beautiful, where did ya go………Come taste My Life, I'll take you Home."

"This Is The Year" (483KB), a fast paced journey of repentance and prayer, reflecting on how the scriptural references to John the Baptist affect us in today's world. Featuring brother Peter on the 6 string lead guitar (right speaker), and nylon string lead guitar (left speaker), as well as Lynne Canavan (from the acclaimed Woodvale String Quartet) on violin, this song surges from start to finish. "There is a sense of spiritual urgency that I wanted to create in this song, and Peter and Lynne couldn't have captured that feeling better."

"The Elevation" (506KB), a moving communion song featuring 6 string guitar and violin, and a masterful lead female vocal by Jackie LeBlanc on the refrain, this song will heighten your journey into communion with the Lord Jesus.

"The Man of Truth" (659KB), a moving song of the Blessed Sacrament, starts out with a large church organ sound on an E-major chord, quickly moving to E-minor guitar strums, transcendent vocal harmonies, and the song finishes upbeat with percussion and a major chord interlude, with praising "Jesus the Christ".

"Ethiopia" (588KB), perhaps the most moving song on the CD, is a prayer of desperation and hope for the starving of the world. "Please rescue them, from Ethiopia."

"Jesus Hear Our Prayer" (495KB) features 6 string finger picking, violin, cello, lead 6 string guitar by brother Peter, and female accompanying soloist Jackie Leblanc, and is a beautiful refection of the marriage commitment. "I wrote this for my wife's niece on the way to her wedding, a five hour trip from Boston to Syracuse, NY."

"The Son of Man" (436KB) is a journey back in time to the days of Christ, not just an ordinary man. This song is a step away from the other tracks on the CD, as the refrain dives into a choral arrangement featuring soprano Chris Bonnevie. "The organ director at my church, Cynthia Angelini, scored the choral arrangement for me, as the refrain called for something more than the voice of a folk rock singer".

"Who Do You Say I AM?" (495KB) Is a folk rock interpretation of Christ's challenge to St. Peter, featuring Paul on 6 string rhythm, brother Peter on the 12 string lead, and an acappella verse by the rest of the Savageau men, (Paul, John, Edward). "The 12 string lead really builds up to Jesus' statement, 'Peter, you are the Rock'".

"The Love We Give Will Stay" (413KB). Paul was asked to write a song for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. The simplest of songs on the CD, featuring 6 string picking and vocal. "I was so happy to be able to write this for Habitat. I hope to be able to perform at one of their ground breaking ceremonies at a future date."

"Mercy O God (psalm 51)" (307KB) is an interpretation of God's infinite Mercy. Ending the CD as it began, Paul uses folk guitar, shakers, a triangle effect, simple keyboard effects, and a soothing bass track. "This song is dedicated to God. How could we comprehend that His forgiveness is so vast?"
