Biography and
Reflection

"I always loved my Catholic faith," recalls Paul. "Even as a youth, I always loved the excitement of knowing that God became human and conquered death and sin through the Cross. But, for a while I fell into the vice of laziness. I stopped attending Church, but it wasn't because I did not believe in it. I was just plain lazy. I never got into trouble, or so I thought. What my laziness got me into was spiritual trouble."

Paul became musically active in the church at the prompting of his parish priest, and has been providing music at Sunday mass ever since. "This calling provided an avenue of creativity to write songs for the Lord." And along the way he has written a beautiful collection of songs. His debut album, "Giving My Heart To You", is scheduled for release in June, 2002. (see musical reviews)

"I would categorize the lyrics to my songs as scriptural, sacramental, and inspirational. These categories are ecumenical in nature, since brothers and sisters of all denominations tend to be Christ-centered. They read the Bible, they receive sacraments, and are subsequently inspired to do acts of mercy and kindness in the name of Jesus."

"As for my musical style, my roots in the 1970's and 1980's range from Paul Simon to the Beatles, Tom Petty, and the Electric Light Orchestra to name just a few." In the Christian music genre, John Michael Talbot is Paul's favorite. "I saw him perform, and the Holy Spirit was manifest in the room." As a result, Paul's style is a blend of acoustic guitars, violin, cello, electric guitars, keyboards, solid percussion, and rich vocal harmonies.

A Musical Background Growing Up

Paul comes from a musical background. His mother, a novice piano player, taught Paul and his siblings how to sing harmony. "The first time I heard my mother sing harmony with me, I asked her, 'how are you making your voice sound like two voices'? When I hear voices in perfect harmony, I think, this is the way people ought to live. In perfect harmony with one another."

Music as Vocation

Paul's goals as a composer of Christian music are to edify the Universal Church, and to bring people into a closer relationship to God and Jesus Christ through song. "I want my songs to ring the Truth about Jesus, and to stir the hearts and souls of all who listen to them. Many people of my generation have fallen away from the Lord, and I hope that they can relate to my musical style, and that the Lord will work through my music to bring people into a renewed union with their Savior. The Church is wounded without these souls, but God's Mercy and forgiveness is there for the taking, and it is free."

Financial Goals

Additionally, Paul has set a goal to give back to the needy of the world. "A portion of all the proceeds that come into my ministry will be tithed. Whether it be through fund raising performances, sales of CD's or other products that spring forth as a result of my ministry, tithing will always be an important part of my ministry, so that God may have the first fruits of my labor."

Habitat For Humanity

A volunteer for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity asked Paul to write them a song. Habitat for Humanity is a Christian organization that helps low income families realize the dream of owning their own home. The result is his song titled ,"The Love We Give Will Stay". "The song focuses on helping those in need of affordable housing."
